　　Summer can be very hot in southern Taiwan where the temperature usually goes up to 32C or more. Because of the heat it is a trying experience to go to school or do anything else in a place that is not air-conditioned.

　　Also because of this I stay at home most of the time during the summer vacation and only occasionally go to the beach to plunge myself into the cool water as a way to keep my body less sticky. Actually I like swimming and think nothing is more refreshing than a swim.

　　In the summer vacation that has just ended I went swimming many times with my classmates and we all had a good time. This summer vacation, however, was not spent entirely in seeking fun. As a second-year senior student I had to prepare myself for the college entrance examinations that were only a year away.

　　In other words, I must find time to study, too. So I divided my time between work and play during the summer vacation and derived much benefit from this arrangement.

On the other hand, I can accumulate some practical experience by doing a part-time job. They can’t be learned in the class or from text books. Besides, I will go over my study and do some preview. I don’t want to waste the summer holiday.

　　很多同学问我我的暑期计划是什么。我很想度过一个丰富多彩又充实的暑假，所以我暑假期间我要去做一份兼职。一方面，我可以通过做兼职赚一些零花钱。我可以自由支配这些钱，因为这是我自己挣来的。另一方面，我也能在做兼职的过程中积累一些实践经验。这些是在课堂上或者书本里学不到的东西。另外，我也会兼顾我的学习，做些预习。我不想白白浪费掉暑假的时间。

　　My summer holiday begun on July 7th。I love summer holiday because I don't have to go to school and I can enjoy myself with my friends。I often spend the mornings doing my homework。And I always watch TV in the afternoon at home because it's very hot outside。And in the evening，I go swimming with my family and then hang out with my friends。I love swimming very much。

　　My plan for August is travelling。I travel with my family every summer holiday。I like travelling because I can go to different places and meet different people。Sometimes I make good friends during the journey。And it's very sad to say goodbye to them when the journey ends。

　　我的暑假7月7日开始。我喜欢暑假，因为我不用去学校，可以和朋友玩。我经常在上午做作业，下午在家看电视，因为外面很热。傍晚，我和家人去游泳然后和朋友去逛街。我很喜欢游泳。

　　我八月份的'计划是去旅游。我每个暑假都和家人去旅游。我喜欢旅游是因为我可以去不同的地方认识不同的人。有时候我在旅途中交到了好朋友。旅途结束和他们告别的时候我觉得很难过。
