我曾经是一个不爱英语、讨厌上英语课的南孩。但是仅仅一节课使我改变了对英语的态度。
星期二下午第一节是英语课。一上课，孟老师先让我们默写。“唰唰唰——”，仅仅七八分钟，全班同学就默写完了，开始校对了。经过同学们的快速校对后，我发现同学们的.脸上，有的是忧愁好像做好了挨骂的准备了；有的笑眯眯，就等着表扬和加分吧！“好，全对的站起来。”孟老师说，“怎么只有这么几个？”“错一个，两个，三个……”同学们都按老师的命令站了起来。直到叫到“六个”时，孟老师发威了，大声说：“错六个以上的给我站起来！”我向四周扫视了一遍：“啊！这不是英语科代表钟双春吗？怎么也加入这个行列了呢！”我心里嘀咕着。经过一番了解后，才知道英语科代表错了11个，这简直是太阳从西边出来了。虽然他以前也常常错，但也不至于错这么多吧！孟老师知道钟双春错了11个，当着同学们的面说：“这个英语科代表撤了！”还让同学们推荐一位英语科代表同学们都议论开了有的说让王正当，还有的让杨诗慧当，可有几为同学说：“他们都是班干部。”最后，孟老师却选了我当英语科代表。
从那以后，我发现自己变了变得对英语产生了兴趣，喜欢上了英语。

那一次我们考英语，我一看卷子，好多题我都记不清楚了。考听力时，我也听得迷迷糊糊。我真的很后悔，平时学习努力不够，知识点记得不深刻，到这时候手忙脚乱。
我深吸了一口气，鼓励自己说：“好好回忆吧！记起多少写多少吧。”卷子是写完了，是不是正确就不知道了。
第二天，卷子发下来了，我一看成绩，暗叫不好，糟糕！我只考了78分。分数也太低了。爸爸说考到90分才算及格，我这分数是不及格啊！
晚上我回到家里，坐在我的书桌前，柔和的灯光照在我面前的.卷子上，我的心情却并不柔和。妈妈看了看我的分数，就给我讲起了她出差去韩国的事情，她说，她不懂韩语，到了韩国后，不敢独自出去，甚至走路都不敢，因为所有的标示牌都看不懂。她说，语言是一种工具，你不懂，你就没办法和人交流。英语也是一种国际语言，只有你掌握了它，你才能使用它。
妈妈的话让我想了很多。我不仅要好好学习英语，长大后我还要学习其他语言，一定好好掌握语言这个工具，用这个工具去了解风云变幻的世界。
